Marco Selten 1988

Grew up in Mill, a small town in the southeast of the Netherlands. From a young age, he developed a love for electronic music, influenced by his older brother. Attending big parties across the country, he experienced top-notch sound systems and a variety of styles, including Hardstyle, Hardcore, Techno, Club, Dubstep, and Drum & Bass.

Marco’s passion for music grew quickly. At 15, he played his first DJ gig, just six months after buying his first mixer and turntables. By the end of his teenage years, he had developed a unique style, mixing with different setups using vinyl, timecode, CDJs, drum machines, and samplers. In his 20s, Marco moved to Nijmegen, where he began his first production work. In the following years, he performed at major venues in Nijmegen and expanded to cities like Amsterdam and various festivals across the Netherlands.

His interest in synthesizers grew, and not long after, he delved deeper into the world of modular. In 2020, he moved to Barcelona to create a new base for his work. Last year he released his first EP, ‘1+1’, setting the equation for his upcoming debut album ‘11’.

Back in 2015/16, Marco launched JUST GROOVES in the Netherlands—an event series built around genre-blending sets, strong musical curation, and high-quality sound. Nearly a decade later, the concept is reborn in Barcelona with a fresh outlook. It now features dedicated editions like Just Modular, where all performances are done live using modular synthesizers, creating raw, hypnotic and fully hardware-driven experiences. The next edition takes place at Opium, blending the energy of the original nights with a new international spirit.
